I love the idea of consistency — the ability to do something repeatedly and get better at it. I celebrate it. I took a walk this afternoon — a break from all the school work on my desk — when I realised I hadn’t marked my two-year newsletter streak, which passed this March. I remember deciding to start writing these letters to you on a walk home in early 2019 (read the first-ever issue here). I was 23, still very enthused about this whole creative writing business. My intentions have morphed over time. Tomorrow, I might decide to start sending you bits from a novel I’m working on or to transform this into a ‘Managing Editor Blog’ — an idea I’ve been toying with for my medium. Who knows? I’m just happy I stuck with this and didn’t stop when I wanted to. I’m happy you stuck with me. Thank you.
What have you done consistently in recent time? I want to hear from you today. You can leave comments below. ❤
Hello,
Thanks for being consistent with your newsletters. I don’t always read through each one but I enjoy them when I do. Your commitment inspires me.
Over the past week I’ve been consistent with working out. Over the past few weeks I’ve been consistent with working on writing projects. Neither of these things show instant results so I guess I’m in a trust the process phase.
It seems you’re in a similar phase, especially with your novel in progress. Congratulations on that. I hope your commitment to it is as consistent, everything else would fall into place.
Have a great week.
I've consistently read and understood my books for about three days now. I really do like that. And I've also meditated for at least 5mins first thing on waking for about a month now
